Botox®

Botox® is a procedure used to improve the appearance of worry lines, frown lines, crow's feet, and other dynamic wrinkles. Wrinkles occur when we activate facial muscles of expression. In treatment with Botox® a chemical denervation is achieved by simple injection. After treatment, the overlying skin becomes smooth while untreated muscles function normally.   Botox® treatment in cosmetic practice is new however the same treatment has been used in other medical applications for over a decade. A small amount of Botox® is injected using a very fine syringe. Usually a minor pinch is felt at the area treated. No sedation or anesthetic is required and you will be able to resume all normal activities immediately. The effects of Botox® are completely reversible, so if a treated area is not considered desirable there is no need to worry.
