Dr. Sutkin grew up in the New York. He moved to the Midwest in1985 to begin his study of Plastic Surgery at the University of Chicago- Pritzker School of Medicine. His early training was distinguished by receiving Phi Beta Kappa and Biochemistry Excellence Awards followed by recognition in the national scientific arena on his research involving skin healing and tissue vascularity.
He completed surgical internship and residency at Stanford University. While at Stanford Dr. Sutkin was well known for surgical excellence, compassionate care of patients, and a friendly manner.
Dr. Sutkin took advanced fellowship training in microsurgery at The Buncke Clinic in San Francisco and in cosmetic surgery in Miami Beach at The Robbins Institute. He is dedicated to using the newest techniques which are proven safe and effective.
Dr. Sutkin enjoys painting and drawing. He has found that form and image are the basis for accurate plastic surgery diagnosis. He also has an avid love of animals and has participated in life saving surgery in felines. Dr. Sutkin has served as volunteer surgeon and instructor worldwide. He has visited places such as Vietnam and Bangladesh to correct congenital deformities in children.
