About Dr. Howard Sutkin

Dr. Howard S. Sutkin performs plastic surgery treatments to enhance the appearance of the face, breasts, body, and skin. He is renowned for his friendly, compassionate manner and the exceptional quality of the results that he is able to provide. His education and training at the University of Chicago, Stanford University, and other prestigious institutions prepared Dr. Sutkin to provide outstanding care from the moment he first opened his practice in Los Gatos, California. Now with over twenty years of experience as a San Jose and Bay Area plastic surgeon, he has become one of the leaders in his field.

Education and Training

Dr. Sutkin studied plastic surgery at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, garnering national recognition for his research on skin healing and tissue vascularity. While there he was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa and Biochemistry Excellence Awards.

After finishing his surgical internship and residency at Stanford University, Dr. Sutkin completed fellowships in plastic surgery at the Robbins Institute in Miami and in microsurgery at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco. He is committed to staying up-to-date with new technologies and techniques in order to provide his patients with the best possible results.

Certification and Membership

Dr. Sutkin is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the National Board of Medical Examiners, and the California Medical Board. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the California Medical Society, and the Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Personal Interests and Community Involvement

In his spare time Dr. Sutkin enjoys painting, drawing, and other creative activities. He has found that his passion for art and beauty helps him to visualize and achieve beautiful, natural-looking results for his plastic surgery patients. He is a member of both the New York Academy of Arts and the New York Academy of Science.

Throughout his career Dr. Sutkin has focused on giving back to his own community and to those who are less fortunate from around the world. He has traveled to Bangladesh, Vietnam, and countries with Interplast, an organization that provides free cleft lip and cleft palate surgery to children whose families cannot afford the treatment. Dr. Sutkin also has an avid love of animals and has participated in life-saving surgeries for felines.
