Breast Lift
The breast lift is designed for women whose breasts have begun to lose their youthful shape and firmness. The aging process is the most common reason why breasts droop and sag, but pregnancy and nursing can often cause the breasts to lose their shape even for younger women.
Dr. Howard Sutkin is skilled at performing the procedure to create shapely, attractive, and youthful-looking breasts. The first step in the breast lift is to remove excess skin through carefully placed incisions around the edge of the areolas. In some cases, the incisions extend down to the crease of the breasts if more skin removal is required or if the patient has a larger bust line. After the excess skin is removed, the nipples are relocated to a higher position on the breasts. The procedure concludes as the remaining skin is brought down over the breasts and they take their new firmer, perkier shape.
Sutures are used to close the incisions and are removed approximately one to two weeks later after the incisions have healed. Bruising and swelling may cause some discomfort in the days after the procedure, but our doctor and staff will be on hand to provide support and ensure that the recovery period is as smooth as possible. Patients can typically return to work after only one week.
